Nitoy's Toronto visit , part 1

Nitoy Lopez '65

HERE WE GO: My trip started in Richmond, VA with BJ Arcebal. The night before, Billy Jack Arcebal '58 drove to my house from the mountains of Valdese, NC. In turn, he and I drove to northern VA to pick up Roger Rionda '58.

My mother joined us in the trip since we had to go through Buffalo, NY where my mother is staying. She
had visited with me in Richmond for 3 weeks. NON-STOP KKK HERE: From the start of the trip, we had
non-stop KKK. We took Route 15N which would take us through Maryland, Pennsylvania and then NY. When we
left Roger's place, we began our periodic contact with Prez Chuggie, who was to meet up with us at the
intersection of Rte 15 and Rte 80. We had to synchronize our arrivals at the intersection.

CHUG'S DECEPTION AND RECEPIENT OF THE SAME: Chuggie had asked Hans to drive him to the appointed spot.
Hans assented to Chug's request when he told Hans it was only 45 minutes away. And when we called Chug's of
his whereabouts, he said the same to us, 45 minutes away. Knowing where they started, I, also, told Chug
we were about that close also. Actually, we were about 1 1/2 hours away. When my passengers asked of the
status of Chug, I told them he's about 1 1/2 hours away. Otherwise, they might believe Chug and they'll unnecessarily worry that Chug would be waiting long.

Events conspired, however, that it would take us 2 1/2 hours to get there. Little did I know that in PA, there was a speed trap on Rte. 15. The speed posted was 65MPH. As I went up a hill, I picked up steam to make the climb. As I climed over the top of the hill, I didn't see that the posted speed had dropped to 55MPH. The truck on my right blocked my vision. As I
even accelerated more going downhill, a state police on the side of the road signaled me to pull over. Despite my pleading, he gave me a ticket for 75MPH which set me back for $175. It also added 30 minutes to the trip since I considerably slowed down after. And since my passengers were all senior citizens, we added another 30 minutes for pit stops.

When we arrived at our meeting place in a restaurant, Chug and Hans had consumed over 1 gallon each of
coffee after waiting almost 2 hours for us. MAS SUMAYA ANG KKK: We went ahead for lunch at the stop. After lunch, Chug joined us in my suv and Hans drove back home. Lalong naging masmasaya ang amin KKK with the addition of Chug. At meroon na akong kapalit magdrive.

We arrived in the evening in Buffalo, NY and drove to my brother's house. We ate dinner there, more KKK and went to sleep at about 2 AM.

Next, the ride to Toronto.
